Movin' on Up

It seems like the last few posts have been all about Lauren so I feel it's time to give the older sister some recognition.

Last Friday, we had Kate's kindergarten graduation!  I can't believe that she already graduated kindergarten.  In the normal parenting cliche', it seems like just yesterday we pulled her from Goddard and started sending her to Calvary!  It's crazy how these years are flying by.

Her program was quite cute.  It was a Western theme, all the way down to bandanas and cowboy, I mean, cowGIRL boots.  Yep, cowgirls boots and a graduation gown! Each child had a speaking part to the program and some had solos for the songs.  Kate had a speaking part and a solo.  Her solo was written to "Git Along Little Doggie".  While I don't have a video of her solo uploaded, let me leave you with this clip of the original song.  We were able to get her to sing her part with a little twang...hilarious!  It was a night of smiles and a night of tears.  We are oh so proud of what Kate has accomplished this year and how much she has grown.  The tears were tears of joy -- we are so incredibly blessed to be able to send Kate to such an amazing school.  Her teacher, Miss Butler, couldn't get through her little speech due to tears.  These teachers love these kids as their own and it truly shows.  I think everyone has that teacher that they always remember -- for whatever reason, that particular teacher touched them in some special way.  Mine was 1st grade and Mrs. Germain.  I wonder if Miss Butler will be that teacher for Kate.  She was incredible!

Mrs. Pack, Kate's preschool teacher.  She volunteered to hold Lauren during the entire program so we could pay attention to Kate.  Amazing school!

Lauren - 3 months

Wow, bad blogging mama alert!  So sorry there has been a lack of blogging but things have been a wee bit crazy in this neck of the woods lately.

No doctor's appointment for Lauren at 3 months.  The next one is at 4 months and will come with more shots.

Age -- 3 months
Weight -- 12lbs (this was determined by putting Lauren on the scale, much to the dismay of Matt and Kate, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do!)
Height -- 23" (this was very scientifically determined during a diaper change one day in between wiggles and kicks so the number may be off slightly)
Sleep -- I'd say she is sleeping through the night.  Some days she gets up earlier than I would like, but I can't really complain, especially when she goes down between 7p & 9p (depending on what we have going on) and wakes up anywhere between 6a & 9a.  The wake up time seems to be dependent on the length and quality of the naps the day before.  Short naps the day before = earlier wake up time (odd, but that's what seems to be happening)
Eating -- we are still doing a combo of nursing and bottle feeding.  When she takes bottle only, it's about 4 ounces.
Likes -- her swing; standing (with assistance, obviously); singing head, shoulders, knees, and toes; her swing (did I mention that already??)
Dislikes -- her car seat; the time between 7p & 8p most nights (it's like we have a completely different baby
New Discoveries -- the bib; anything she can shove in her mouth to suck on; my hair and how to pull it.

Kate is still doing well with Lauren.  She is a big help, sometimes too much so.  She often runs to Lauren's side when Lauren is crying and, while the sentiment is sweet, can actually upset Lauren more than she already was.  We are trying to get Kate to leave Lauren alone when she is upset or at least wait for directions from us before approaching Lauren.
