Last Friday, we had Kate's kindergarten graduation! I can't believe that she already graduated kindergarten. In the normal parenting cliche', it seems like just yesterday we pulled her from Goddard and started sending her to Calvary! It's crazy how these years are flying by.
Her program was quite cute. It was a Western theme, all the way down to bandanas and cowboy, I mean, cowGIRL boots. Yep, cowgirls boots and a graduation gown! Each child had a speaking part to the program and some had solos for the songs. Kate had a speaking part and a solo. Her solo was written to "Git Along Little Doggie". While I don't have a video of her solo uploaded, let me leave you with this clip of the original song. We were able to get her to sing her part with a little twang...hilarious! It was a night of smiles and a night of tears. We are oh so proud of what Kate has accomplished this year and how much she has grown. The tears were tears of joy -- we are so incredibly blessed to be able to send Kate to such an amazing school. Her teacher, Miss Butler, couldn't get through her little speech due to tears. These teachers love these kids as their own and it truly shows. I think everyone has that teacher that they always remember -- for whatever reason, that particular teacher touched them in some special way. Mine was 1st grade and Mrs. Germain. I wonder if Miss Butler will be that teacher for Kate. She was incredible!
Mrs. Pack, Kate's preschool teacher. She volunteered to hold Lauren during the entire program so we could pay attention to Kate. Amazing school!
